We are proud to offer the Pinewild Golf Academy to our Members, our Junior Members, and other golf enthusiasts throughout the Sandhills. Our teaching philosophy values progress over perfection and extends beyond the game itself, striving to connect with each student on a personal level. If you’re new to the game, we aim to make the game accessible and fun from day one. And if you’re seasoned veteran, it’s all about what you want to improve.

The Pinewild Golf Academy is led by Gus Ulrich, PGA, who is recognized as one of the most respected players and teachers in the Carolinas PGA Section. In addition to a number of personal achievements (which include 2011 Carolinas PGA Section Champion and 5-time Carolinas Section Senior Player of the Year, Gus is also the Men’s Golf Coach at Sandhills Community College, boasting seven NJCAA D3 National Championships (2014, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, and 2026). His passion for golf is matched only with his passion for teaching, as Pinewild members can attest.
