Pinewild Country Club of Pinehurst offers two flavors of couples golf followed by a dinner over several months. A small entry fee per couple is collected for prize money (Golf Shop Credit) with the lucky winners announced during dinner.
Twilight Golf is designed to be a mixer and a “get to know folks” event. Sign-up and play as couples, with fun being the key word as the coordinators configure teams of 4 couples. Play is contested over nine holes, with generally some form of “scramble” format.
The second event is called Par Chasers where the game is eighteen holes of “regular” golf. Sign-up for this event is by team (2 couples). The game is generally some form of better-ball competition to generate a team score. Full handicaps are used thus a USGA handicap is required to participate. Again following the golf event we have refreshments and dinner for all those who worked up an appetite on the course.
This game is limited to 80 players, with tee times in both the morning and afternoon, this to better accommodate peoples schedules. Dinner follows golf starting at 6:00PM with cocktails, and participants choosing between different entrées, or sometimes a buffet dinner. The sign-up is posted approximately two weeks prior to the event, please sign-up as a four-person “team” [two couples] and indicate your entrée choice.
Please note, a maximum USGA Handicaps will apply.
The dates for 2024 are as follows…March 10th, April 21st, May 19th, June 9th, July 21st, August 18th, September 22nd and October 20th.
Due to food preparation costs, cancellations within 48 hours of the event cannot be accepted for both Twilight and Par Chasers. Should either event need to be cancelled due to weather (golf not the food), you will be contacted and the dinner portion will be held as planned.
Please also note that there is a minimum number of participants to host the dinner…that number is 48 individuals. Should the number of participants not meet the number of 48, the event may continue to be contested, however the food portion would not be included.
